Review content:
We went to dinner at Zin Bistro with 8 family members to celebrate our parents' 63rd anniversary. The food was only so-so and overpriced. Our waitress was okay. The kicker came when at the end of the meal I asked to speak to the manager because I thought the service charge for cutting a cake was excessive ($20) and also thought it was improper to calculate the 18% tip on the total amount that included the service charge and tax. We had already paid; I wasn't asking for a reduction, I just wanted him to know. Rather than accept the comments graciously, the manager (he may possibly have been the owner) was defensive and insulting, and then went absolutely ballistic, yelling and cursing, including shouting ""f--- your mother"" while my octogenarian parents were standing there (remember it was a party for their anniversary), as were a couple of children. It was truly shocking. We eat out frequently in restaurants of all levels and have never witnessed an employee go crazy on his customers (who had just spent nearly $400 at his restaurant and were simply voicing an opinion) in this manner. If anyone values respect and decency from a business owner, I would urge them to avoid this place like the plague. There are plenty of other very nice places in Westlake Village to choose from.
