Review content:
My wife and I just moved from PA to AZ. We were going to drag a U-haul trailer with the goods we packed, but at the last minute, 2 days from our last day in the apartment, we decided against it. We contacted Colonial and they stepped in and got us scheduled for pickup on time with no problems. Movers at boths ends were prompt and pleasant to work with and Colonial personnel were "with us" and on top of things all along the way. Everything arrived in a timely manner with only some relatively minor damage (scrape) to the footboard of our bed. If I was to make a similar move again, I would not hesitate to contact Colonial; however, I will offer the following advice to anyone considering shipping their packed goods with any moving agent: 1. Do not "overpack" your boxes. Otherwise, you will likely find your weight and shipping costs to be grossly underestimated. 2. If you can sell off/donate unimportant items before moving, DO IT. Chances are it will be cheaper and easier to buy and replace such items at your destination, if necessary. 3. Think twice about shipping books and magazines unless they are irreplaceable or have some other personal value to them. THEY ARE HEAVY and will skew your weight estimates.
