My boyfriend and I moved into Breckenridge because it looked like a nice community on the outside. The grounds look decent and the buildings are OK, plus we were assured by the leasing office that it was such a safe place to live and was patrolled 24 hours a day by security! After living here nearly a year, I think going back to a tiny bunk in a dorm would be much better! Cars are broken into ALL the time, people are constantly being shot, one of our neighbors actually set their kitchen on fire during a fight, and countless people deal drugs out of their apartments! Don't plan to ever get a good night of sleep either, or to hang anything on your walls, because once about 5pm rolls around everyone seems to think it's time to blare music so loudly that your whole apartment shakes! You hear everything through the walls and constantly smell the pot from surrounding apartments. Oh and the ""security"" officer just sits in his truck sleeping all the time. He NEVER patrols! I know this because he parks the truck in my parking lot! You are a prisoner in your apartment after dark because there are gangs and gunfights all over! There is a lot of parking, but your car is NOT safe period. Even old junk cars have been stolen! Maintanence does not fix problems unless you call 10 times IF then, and the people at the leasing office don't care at all what is going on! Windows are ancient and drafty, closet doors never stay on the tracks, theres a bad mold problem around windows and in the bathroom around the tub, the hot water only works half the time, the list could go on and on for days Oh, also when we looked at the particular unit we were going to be living in there was a huge greenish brownish stain on the carpet in one corner and they said they would replace the carpet. Well they did replace the carpet but what they had failed to tell us which we later found out about was that they actually let us go into this apartment and see the stain from body fluids of a person who had died and been left there for days! GROSS!!! Also, they told us before we signed the lease that they would replace the sink which was covered in mold and they didn't until about 3 months after we'd been living here! We have had such a problem with roaches and ants and maintanence won't do anything to treat the problem! I can't wait to get out of this place! I would not wish this place on my worst enemy! THIS IS NOT A SAFE PLACE TO LIVE!!!
