We were starting to feel closed in by our home, it was getting a bit tight with space. We already had a garage sale, donated thing and still the space was just not right. So we decided to hire a contractor to help us make the most of the space we have. We started with the closets. We restructured the closets with organizers, doors, cubbies and hanging bars, as well as pull out hampers for the dirty clothes. Next we added shelving in the kids rooms. After that we attacked the laundry room, getting the ironing board installed on the door, shelving, a custom wall unit for soap and laundry supplies and a hanging rod to air dry clothing. We installed high shelving around the perimeter to store things we don't use to often. In the bathroom, we removed the standing sink with a beautiful cabinet! Now all that was left was the garage and the kitchen. The kitchen has always been set up terribly! There is little drawer space and the pantry is not deep enough for a trash can, etc. We were able to make some minor changes that really improved the function. We removed some of the lower shelves in the pantry closet to fit a trash can, then we added some deep, tall drawers, and above that, more structured shelving with less height between the shelves so we didn't have to stack things 5 high to use the area. I am so happy with the results! I cannot afford to sell this house and I was tired of clutter and seeing things on the floor or out of place. You have finally allowed me to enjoy my home again!
