I love reading fashion and beauty magazines, and I eagerly scan the latest celebrity looks and "find-the-right-cut-for-your-face" guides, but I can never figure out quite what to ask for. When I first went to Shanaz, I muttered vague directions about taking a couple inches off and some form of bangs, and maybe more layers? Layers always sound like a good idea. I'm not usually much of a talker during treatments, but Shanaz engaged me unobtrusively in light conversation as she asked questions about how I usually styled my hair. When she was finished, I had a shoulder-length cut with some of the volume and movement of a bob; my mother (who generally criticizes my hair unless it's pinned up) called the effect "distinctly modern". I can let my hair air-dry, go to bed, and wear it out in the morning without even brushing it! The bangs are perfect; light and swept to the side (and I can even change how much I want to wear them to the side), with none of the barrel brushes or flatirons I've used to tame them before. I didn't know such a great looking AND easy-upkeep cut existed!
