I am a local resident of San Carlos, and like to support local companies and stores. I am so upset that I took a diamond ring to be sized at Emkay Jewlers on Laurel Street. I received it as a Christmas present, and now I am sick to my stomach. The ring was originally a size 7 and I wanted it sized to a 61/4. When I picked up the ring, it lost it's shape. There were evident marks from a file, and it had lost it's white gold lustre. When I talked to the owner she said that all rings are not going to be perfect after they are sized!!! I was so disappointed in her lack of customer satisfaction. I took it to Hirzel Jewelers in Menlo Park- the lead jeweler there said my ring had not been welded correctly together, there are many file marks, and evidence of careless work! It may break apart in the future. I would not recommend Emkay jewelers in San Carlos. I am just crushed!
