Review content:
I took my cat here late on a Friday night after he had gotten into a fight with a dog. The front desk staff seemed unconcerned about my cat. The vet took x-rays and told us he had no internal injuries, gave him pain meds and antibiotics and sent us home with instructions to follow up with our regular vet the next day. When we got him home I was extremely surprised by his condition. He was clearly in shock and still bleeding from his wounds. He couldn't control his hind legs. I don't understand why they did not keep him for monitoring overnight, but they did not. When I got to my vet on Saturday morning the situation was clearly much more grave than we were led to believe. He did in fact have a penetrating abdominal wound and his condition had deteriorated dramatically in the 8 or so hours since we left the night before. Our vet sent us to another Pet Emergency Clinic and our experience there was completely professional and compassionate. It turns out our cat was in critical condition and we unfortunately had to put him to sleep. I am not sure the outcome would have been any different had I gone to the second Pet Emergency Clinic on Friday night but I know I would have felt much better about the standard of care and competency and concern for my cat. I would not recommend going here when there are other outstanding options in Knoxville.
