DO NOT RENT FROM THEM. I'm completely disgusted after my experience with Extra Space Storage. I was a few months behind on my rent and I got a call on Saturday 6/16/12 that my unit was going to be sold at auction on Wednesday 6/20/12 unless I could come up with the entire past amount due. They would not negotiate. They would not take 1 or 2 months of payments. They would not do anything except sell the unit because, in their words: "Legally we can do this." I got the money together and called to say I was bringing it over and they informed me that they had already sold the unit. I never received any notification of the sale prior to that Saturday and when I spoke to the district manager, he told me that the letter they sent had been returned to them. I feel horrible. Decades of my family's belonging gone and they wouldn't negotiate and they didn't even notify me.
