As someone who has spent the better part of the last decade living/working/studying in and for Africa, I've seen first hand the social and environmental consequences of mining for diamonds and other precious minerals in Africa. The thought that one day I might have to propose with a ring that completely contradicts my values had given me a heavy heart. Insert Brilliant Earth. I just received the most perfect ring that both meets the ethical standards that my girlfriend and I hold true AND is the dazzling piece that she deserves. Thank you, Brilliant Earth.
