Pilates on the reformer machine (see photo at is one of my passions. This particular exercise form is like no other and has totally revolutionized my exercise life and my husbands as well. When I got pregnant last year, I stopped doing pilates, and invited my husband to take over the spot in the class. Doing nothing different except adding pilates twice a week, he lost 25 pounds and looks like the young buck I married all those years ago! :-) We do pilates in a room of four reformer machines in a small class setting, so the instructor can see everyone's form and call out the exercises. Let me tell you, this works every muscle in the body, but really focusses on the CORE muscles, which are the abs. Your posture will improve, you will become leaner without bulking up, the feeling is like no other exercise I've ever done, and believe me, I've tried most. My only complaint is that reformer pilates can be expensive.(about $22 per session) My husband calls it 'cheap insurance' against health trouble down the line. But I recommend once getting started with reformer, adding mat pilates classes, which will work better for you, once you learn how pilates is supposed to be done, on the reformer. This business is soon opening up a new location in west Omaha, near 172nd and Center.
