Chloe Calhoun was the name of our 13 year old Miniature Schnauzer. She had not been eating well, stopped jumping up on the couch as well as in bed with us. She didn't greet my husband at the door on Monday night. So on Tuesday am I called to get her in. They gave me as early of an appointment as they could the same day & even called to let me know they had an opening to get her in sooner if that worked for me. once I arrived, Dr.Walsh whom had saved her life in 2005 and had seen her at her follow up appt.in June, noticed right away that she was not her usual self. He sat right down on the floor with her & examined her as well as listened attentively to my concerns. He felt it prudent that we not only get an Xray right away but also to take a blood test. He was very thorough, upfront, honest & concerned. He found bladderstones & a mass. He scheduled her for surgery on Thrs.as well as prescribed her an anti-inflammatory, vitamins & special food to help give her a boost before surgery. Regretfully Chloe's tumours were inoperable. He immediately called me to discuss our options. He respected our decision to close her up as we needed some time with her & he called us as soon as she woke up & told us when we could come get her. We had a scare with her incision weeping & he asked us to bring her back in at no charge to give her a belly wrap. He also wanted us to bring her that Sat.to the BA location just for a check up. However we called Fri.night & let the receptionist know we were ready to put her down on Sat. The whole staff at both locations, sorry I can't remember names were very thoughtful about our delicate situation. the process was as smooth & painless as it could've been in spite of & we are oh so thankful for the 10 years of continued great service & the loving nature in which they handled the whole situation. Dr.Walsh was amazing with her as well as with us. I would recommend both locations & when we are ready for another pet in our lives, we will definitely use Dr.Walsh again. Sincerely, Monica&Jim Calhoun.
