Review content:
Let me point out to all of you a quote taken from their web-site; ?The wine list at Ariadne Restaurant & Bar focuses on small production wines, usually under 10,000 cases made per vintage, with most being under 2500 and many under 1000.?
Wow, as it pertains to wine I have never seen a more deceptive claim in print. After my dinning experience which was mediocre at best I will say the food shined creatively above the service and the poor wine selection. The next day I checked out their web-site only to read the above quote. At the most there was only 4 wines with less that a 10K production and 1 wines with less than a 2500 case production and it was out of stock? I would love the wife to attempt to inform me that she has a wine with less than a 1K production line. Some of the greatest wines in the world that would be sought after by the most finicky collectors are well above 5K and many 10K.
The one thing that I dislike about dinning in the ?burbs? is that buyers are uneducated as to what is available. I find more often than not ridiculously inexpensive wine that was commonly served in the city 2 or 3 years ago while it was unknown making a comeback in establishments like this at a price far above the traditional mark up.
Come on folks were taking Newton! Most of the local clientele that frequent this establishment have a better selection at home that the restaurant. By the way most of the people who live in Newton work in the city and dine there as well. Show me something different!
Again the food was good! I just take offence to people who attempt to pull the wool over our eyes.
Lastly the bartender that evening was loud, obnoxious and rude! Stick to the job description pal, ?serve and listen?, don?t speak about things you do not know and don?t call me your friend because I leave you a tip because that?s how you get paid!
