Check out the Lindberg display 4/14/2006

The St. Louis history museum is free and a great visit for broke college students looking for something to do. They have an excellent display on the St. Louis hero, Lindberg, which includes journals and keepsakes donated by Lindberg and his wife. This is probably not a good place to take the kids though, as there are few interactive exhibits, and the subject matter might be boring for the younger ones. more

We enjoy the movies 10/20/2005

The kids love climbing around in the small theater, and we all enjoy walking around and looking at the old documents and relics. The display on Black History is particularly moving. more

great for Saint Louis history 9/10/2005

This museum is great if you are into the history of the Saint Louis area, as the exhibits are all geared towards various people, places, and things that shaped the area over the last hundreds of years. It's a great place to take any tourist that is a history buff, or a resident that is just curious about how St. Louis grew and developed over the years. There are some neat pictures in there too of St. Louis over the years. Admission is free and parking isn't too bad so take a trip sometime! more

free and awesome 8/19/2005

The history museum in St. louis often features selected portions of history to be viewed. I came to see the Worlds fair exhibit and was pleasently surprised. The displays had purpose and brevity. There were no long winded write ups for the displays. They also have an extensive amount of permanent displays that are a must see for any traveller or st.louis resident more

Learning About Missouri in a Fun Setting 8/4/2005

I hadn't been to the Historical Society since I was a child and hadn't been terribly excited about returning. However, once inside, I was surprisingly charmed by the presentation of Missouri history and immediately taken in by the interesting exhibits and the way they were presented. We learned about the Cholera Epidemic in the early 1900's, all about Lewis and Clark and my daughter was particularly transfixed with the replica of the Spirit of St. Louis. The Seeking St. Louis exhibit is very interesting and just seeing some of the artifacts is in itself worth the trip. If you're interested in a day that is educational and can intersting even to the kids, this is a place to consider. more
