Being a native of Tucson, I've seen the "Randolph" Park Zoo become the "Reid" Park zoo. I has gone from animals in small cages to the spectacular zoo it is now. The transformation has been unbelievable if you've been around like me to see it! The animals are given venues more like their natural habits. It reminds me a little like the Denver Zoo. I love the Polar Bears, giraffes and zebras! It's such a nice place to leisurely walk and take your time to view the animals. There is a snack bar or you could bring along your snacks for the kids. I can't go into the gift shop without a t-shirt or animal puppet. There is the Christmas time Zoo celebration yearly where the lights are up. Also Feast with the Beasts celebration. Being a member is worthwhile.
