I think perhaps the staff of New Delhi has read these reviews, because on my visit today the entire staff was noticeably gracious and attentive from the moment I walked in to the moment two of them thanked me on my way out.
In my mind, that was the only reason not to visit New Delhi Palace. The food itself is fairly good (although there are many excellent Indian restaurants in the Pasadena area). I would highly recommend eating there for dinner, or ordering off the menu at lunch... and reserving the rather uneven lunch buffet for those times you are in a rush. The buffet contains a somewhat bland version of what their chefs are capable, and the food is of uneven temperature and consistency.
That said, there are plenty of items on the menu to excite. The Tandoori Chicken is delicious and I also recommend any of the curries. The atmosphere is really nice, overlooking Colorado Street in Pasadena. The only complaint I have is the parking lot, which is cramped and difficult to maneuver. But parking woes are easily forgotten with the distraction of their fairly delicious food.
