My fiance and I were spending entirely too much money on groceries each week (feeding a family of 7) so we decided to try shopping from home. Shoprite and Acme, both in Washington Township, offer shopping from home. I'd like to outline to differences since we haven't decided which one we like more!
Acme: Website fairly easy to use. They don't allow coupons to be used (as of yet). Acme has those great 10 for $10 deals. If you don't choose allow substitutions, you just don't recieve the product. $10 charge. delivers to your front door.
Shoprite: Website easier to use. They DO allow coupons, but they don't deliver (you drive there and park in a special spot..but someone comes out takes your payment and coupons and loads your groceries into your car). If you don't choose to allow substituions, they CALL you and ask if you want something different. $10 charge.
To sum it up for us, we prefer Shoprite's coupon policy and customer service (everyone has been so cheerful and friendly). Acme has more "deals" and we don't have to leave the house.
Since both charge $10 I've found that looking at our coupons at hand and checking both circulars, then choosing which would cost less, seems to be our deciding factor every two weeks. Both are great if you, like us, go in a store and get tempted to stray from your list!
