For the kitchen aficionado 4/6/2006

Located in the Shops at the Bellevue (Park Hyatt hotel) right on Broad Street in the heart of the tourist district, Williams-Sonoma is an exciting stop for the kitchen aficionado. It is an upper-crust gourmet specialty shop that offers small appliances, tableware, accessories, and little luxuries, like sweet-smelling hand soaps and fancy mustards. None of it comes cheap. There's always a few customers, but not that many. (usually almost as many staff as shoppers) I like to come here for inspiration and just for fun. I can buy the same items sold here on the internet usually. I'd only buy the Williams-Sonoma exclusives here. If you are buying brand name stuff, I'd ask the clerk if there are any rebates. I saw a ton of rebate forms by the cash registers. My favorite part about coming here are the samples. They have so many delectable things to try. Just the other day when I came here, there was a chef from a new restaurant also in the Bellevue and he was making this yummy fish dish. I think it was called ceviche, but don't hold me to that. more
