I've been enjoying Las Margaritas since the original location (Rose Hill, Kirkland) opened in the early 80s. They've added a new salsa option over the years, but their original red salsa is the BEST ~ I could make a meal of it with their fresh, warm tortilla chips. Las Margaritas is an excellent family restaurant; the variety provides options for picky gringo children, and plenty of choices for more adventurous adults. The enchiladas, tacos and chalupas are pretty standard fare, served with unremarkable beans & rice.
A relatively recent addition is the healthy choices menu...the vegetarian enchiladas come in a wonderful carrot-based sauce. Highly recommended if you're trying to stick to a diet! On the regular menu, I'd recommend the mole and the dish featuring shrimp and veggies over rice (can't remember the name). Margaritas are excellent, of course.
My one disappointment is the chile relleno. Las Margaritas adds a meat filling and features a thicker omelet-type coating. If you prefer (like I do), a more traditional cheese-filled, very lightly battered pepper, I'd avoid this menu item.
Friendly service, and very family-friendly atmosphere ~ and even a Mariachi band on some nights! Kids eat for $1.99 on Sundays, at least at the Redmond location.
