The chains in and around St. Augustine are always inexplicably packed, considering the amount of one of a kinds downtown. I can only assume most of the patrons to the chains are locals, and many flock to the ones near 312, including Outback, Red Lobster, and Carrabas. While they are all very good, I thought that Johnny Carino's did the best job of making customers feel they are in a little, out of the way place that is not at all little or out of the way. On a busy Friday night, we had prompt seating and service, and the acoustics allowed for a quiet dinner in a crowded restaurant. High booths offer great privacy as well. The dinners were amazing and reasonably priced. I can definitely recommend Carino's among the chains in St. Augustine- if you must.
