Do not go to this salon under any circumstance. I went in for a haircut and highlights (I've been getting highlights for over 10 years now) and left less than happy. I paid $190 plus a generous tip for the service. I realize I shouldn't have done this now -- however, at the time the colorist, Cecile, was in a hurry to leave (I was the last customer of the day) and had mentioned several times that she needed to go home. The blowout was fairly awful, but I thought I could go home, wash it out and blow it out myself. I always give a new haircut a week to get used to the way the hair falls, though I was unhappy with the color from the beginning. I had specified to Cecile that I needed the color to last several weeks because of a busy schedule -- barely a week later I already have half-inch roots in addition to blotchy, uneven color. My haircut is probably one of the worst I've ever had -- the layers are uneven (and not in a cool way). When I called to voice my dissatisfaction on Tuesday of this week, I spoke to another hair stylist and left a message. However, my message to Cecile did not get passed on, and I called back two days later. Upon voicing my concern to Cecile, I was shocked at her indignant tone -- she repeatedly said that she has had many years of coloring hair and never had had a complaint before. She said many times that her coloring was “tip top” and that I must be mistaken. She also said, "You are insulting me! You are making this personal!" when I merely explained my concerns (uneven hair and color). When I offered to come in and show her my hair, she said, "How do I know you haven't done anything to your hair?" suggesting that I had made some alteration to the color or cut (this doesn't make any sense -- how could I give myself longer roots??). I asked for compensation of some sort and she said she would have to call back. An hour or so later, her manager called back and began to tell me the same type of things. She said I should have called a week earlier -- I told her I was merely attempting to give Cecile the benefit of the doubt by giving myself a week to get used to the cut when the manager said, "Nobody does that." Well, I do. She continued to tell me that she only gets highlights every eight weeks and barely has 1 inch of growth -- I attempted to squeeze in that I, in fact, already had a 1/2 inch of growth (and wouldn't this mean the stylist might have screwed up). This went on for another five minutes until she began to raise her voice, claiming that I was insulting her business by suggesting that Cecile had not colored my hair to my satisfaction (really... why would I lie? It's not like a dress I can take back -- it's my hair that I have to live with every day). At that point -- and on the verge of tears -- I thanked her for calling me back and hung up. This was a terrible experience and now I am forced to spend another $200 to fix Cecile's mistakes. Please do not go to this salon -- if only if you don't want to be insulted and called a liar by both stylist and manager.
