After having a successful experience at another local shelter, I was happy to find a sweet cat at Scottsville to adopt. They made one mistake after another and were so incompetent! They adopted out a cat who had a severe heart murmur, severe anemia, and an undiagnosed illness. The cat did not eat or drink for 48 hrs. following his adoption. I took him to my vet who promptly found the problems and said he would most likely die from the illness. There is NO POSSIBLE way that any competent place would not see that he was unhealthy. I do not believe that they even ran the blood work and pre-adoption checks that they said they did. These people do not deserve to be running a shelter. Save yourself heartbreak and do not go here!
