Great service, friendly staff! 8/14/2006

This is a family-owned convenience store in the heart of Rupert. The owners are residents of Rupert and are supportive of the school and non-profit organizations. My family does a lot of our "in-between" shopping there. They offer several rows of groceries - the sort of stuff you run out of often but don't want to keep a lot of it around the house. They also have a fresh dairy section, fresh vegetables, and a fresh meat section; their Ground Chuck is excellent. They also have dinner hams that you can have then cut to order, although if you want to use your EBT to get one, you need to order it to pick up when it's cold (they're kept in a heater, and EBT doesn't buy "pre-prepared" foods). During the week they have pre-prepared breakfast biscuits, hamburgers/cheeseburgers, and a hot sandwich choice. There are also a cold-cut sandwiches available 7 days a week and a coffee pot that is never empty! Many locals gather there to chat and trade local news (mostly retirees), They also are a gas station, one of the 3 in Rupert. Their gas prices are usually better than most stations in the area. They accept WIC, EBT, Debit Cards, Credit Cards and LOCAL checks. more
