I discovered this delightful little restaurant, located in -what else- a HOUSE. Only a few blocks from the downtown shopping district, it's a friendly breakfast and lunch spot with fresh, pure and delicous foods. The first time I attended with my daughter and grandson, we found ourselves waiting for a table after we ordered at the counter. It was difficult choosing among the mouth watering salads, sandwiches, wraps, and soups, all of which are made while you wait (and watch if you like). I have learned on subsequent visits that Michael Bauer's menu changes often so your palet never need to get bored. His meals have many Asian and French touches. My daughter and I couldn't decide on the homemade soups because they all sounded so good. Their natural ingredients with grains and vegetables are certainly good for a healthy heart. The wide wrap around porch seats many in good weather. If you come at lunch time, be prepared to wait for a table. Its proximity to the hospital brings lots of hungry staff. We did find it noisy because the dining area is all hard surfaces and not very large (think your living room). Prices are reasonable, as lunch prices go. Whenever I have a friend visit from out of town, this is where I take them.
