Staples in Elkton, MD just opened this month. Not sure of the exact date but it hasn't been long! I have had two chances to shop there. One was to go to their copy center. On this occasion, I simply wanted them to put a spiral binding on something I had created. I got to the counter and told the lady what I wanted and she siad, "I don't know if we do that." I told her the other Staples stores do so she checked with her manager and sure enough, they could do the binding. It took quite a while as I think the manager was training the girl on how to use the machine but it got done and was correct.
The other shopping occasion was on Black Friday. I waited in line outside the store while an employee handed out slips for big ticket items. I told him what I was there for and was assured that there were plenty and I would not have a problem. Lo and behold, they did not have lenty and I did not get what I had gone shopping for that morning. I was very disappointed. It would have been one thing if they told me there was a limited supply but they were not handing out tickets but to sayt hat there were plenty and still not get the item was very dissapointing, to say the least. I got a few other items and the line took more than 30 minutes to get through even though there were only 3 customers ahead of me. I do not think that the cashier was trained very well and before a day like Black Friday, it was imperative that this should have happened.
This Staples store is smaller than many. The employees tried to be helpful but many did not know any answers. I was a bit disappointed.
