Refused to take faulty t-shirt back. 3/10/2007

I have shopped here a number of times before. And until yesterday I would have told you that this is a great store with an eclectic selection of clothes and helpful, friendly sales people. Until yesterday. And here is why: A few days ago I bought a t-shirt at their Bellevue store and when I got home I found two holes in the fabric. The shirt was on sale when I bought it but since it was faulty I expected to be able to return it for a refund or store credit without any trouble. So I took it back to the store (Yes, you guessed it: today) to exchange it. Let me tell you - I was in for a big surprise! They flat out refused to take the shirt back because "it was a sale item and sales are final". THEY WOULDN'T EVEN GIVE ME STORE CREDIT FOR IT! Now I could understand that if I had bought the shirt half a year ago or if I had worn the shirt or if this was the salvation army. But it was about a week ago and this is obviously one of the higher end boutiques in the area. I had expected more of them. Now if you've been to the store and you're thinking something like "really? I can't imagine THEM being like that" --- that's exactly how I felt. I couldn't believe it. I am utterly disappointed to say the least and have no intention of ever going back there. more
