Myakka is home to hundreds of beautiful plants, insects, birds and animals but above all others, alligators are abundant at this park! If you choose to canoe or kayak on the lake or the river you will come very close to the alligators. Often they are lying on the shore and will submerge themselves when you go by but occasionally they will follow you and chase you - a little scary but if you leave them alone and follow appropriate safety precautions you should be safe.
Whatever your passion, whether it be hiking, boating, fishing, biking or just exploring, they'll be something at Myakka for you!
