Albertson’s 1/29/2007

Albertson’s We don’t shop at Albertson’s often because their prices are quite a bit higher than either WinCo or FoodMaxx. But sometimes Albertson’s gets some really awesome sales. And that’s when we shop there! The Albertson’s sale paper comes out on Friday and we check it out to see if there are any tempting foods at cheap prices. We like to buy our boneless, skinless chicken breast from the Albertson’s meat counter because it tastes better than the frozen boneless skinless chicken breasts that you can pick up in bags in the freezer section. We just have to separate it into ziplock bags with about four chicken breasts each and then freeze them ourselves. It’s more work for us but the flavor and quality of the chicken just seems tastier and fresher. Albertson’s gets them on sale every so often for around $1.80 per pound. Then we buy around twenty pounds of them. Albertson’s also gets their Kraft Macaroni and Cheese on sale for very cheap. The sale used to be for 25 cents a box but I believe that has changed to 50 cents a box these days. Then there is the Albertson’s spaghetti sauces and juices and some of their other store brand items that they get on sale that we will use. We like the Albertson’s bakery for some of their specialty breads and their chocolate chip cookies. They are very tasty. When we are in a hurry and hungry, Albertson’s sells already cooked chicken in their deli. You can get either fried chicken or a whole b-b-q chicken for a very reasonable price. From their produce section, you can get trays of already cut up fruits and vegetables to round out an almost healthy meal. They also sell rolls close to the chicken or you can get the chicken as a dinner with a package of rolls, two salads from their deli and the chicken for one price. Albertson’s also rents DVD’s so you can rent a movie when you shop for groceries. They also have bulk Jelly Belly jelly beans which as super tasty. There are books and magazines for sale at the front of the store. You can also buy flowers or a bouquet from their flower shop when you need to say I’m sorry to your significant other! There is also a bank ATM inside of Albertson’s. Albertson’s makes grocery shopping very convenient though somewhat pricey. The kids like Albertson’s because they have shopping carts that are shaped like a car that they can sit inside of. more
