The whole time I've lived in Chicago, I've lived near and shopped (at least sporadically) at a Treasure Island. They've never as busy as Jewel, which is understandable because they tend to have higher prices (and fewer sales). They do have a great variety of unusual or gourmet foods, or ethnic foods, but always check the expiration dates! I've found that bread is not nearly as fresh there as Jewel. Also, I've bought cheese there and, although it was prior to the expiration date, there was still mold. It makes me wonder how well-kept the store is behind the scenes. I'll buy simple things there, like sugar, but nothing else. You're better off hitting up Jewel or Dominicks for normal purchases!
