I remember going to the Star Market in my grandmother's giant old Buick as a little kid, and my mom remembers the same thing. It's amazing that this place is still around - and the reason it survives is the service, especially at the meat counter. Every sweet little old lady on the east end of town seems to get her ham and steak from here, even if they shop elsewhere for their other groceries.
This store is a little overpriced, but well worth it for the nostalgia - check out the aisle markers that look like little lamps! Star Super Market is a cute little neighborhood store and I'm glad it's still around. Go there to see how people bought groceries before Winn-Dixie and Super Wal-Mart existed. You might find the calm very zen-like, and the awesome service is refreshing.
