We go to Bell's Mansion every couple of months or so, and always have a nice time.
Ambiance-- the restaurant is in a restored mansion ($1million renovation). Gorgeous gorgeous. The bar has a beautiful stained glass ceiling, but is very smoky. I guess after April when the laws go into effect, this will change. Dress can be nice casual. It’s not a dress up in a gown, nor a dress down in sweats kind of place.
Food—the menu has low end items, such as French Dip sandwich, hamburgers, salads, pizza (all under $12) all the way up to Lobster Ravioli, Scallops (Yummy!), Lamb, Veal, etc. (all under $28). Appetizers are good. Bruschetta served before dinner, bread is served with basil infused evoo, dessert is good (Bananas flauta!). The only thing I’ve not enjoyed here is a veal with lobster tail dish. Veal was not my cup of tea and lobster was dry. Martini menu is great, too. I love the French Martini- c’est perfection.
Service—a tiny bit slow sometimes, but otherwise very good.
