In the era of online retailing, it must be tough for brick and mortar bookstores to keep up, especially when their own online prices are a lot cheaper. I usually only go to BAM or B&N when I absolutely *must* have a book, so the hit on my pocketbook is expected, but disappointing. Even their once good Millionaire's Club has gotten more expensive and less rewarding. The atmosphere is more crowded than cozy, and though it is fun to browse, their prices are dismally high compared to what you can get online. Even their clearance is not all that great. I love to support Alabama's businesses, but I have to say that I'd rather get a good price in the bargain, too.
