I have lived in Chicago my entire life but never once made it down to Taylor Street. So many famous Italian restaurants and bakeries originated from this infamous area. I stopped in recently to check out this place. It's nothing pretty, you order at the counter and then can take it to go or eat in the dining area next door. The prices are so reasonable and the food was really very good. We had an enormous plate of mostaccioli with garlic bread for $5, and a slice of pizza with a pop for only $3.50. You will see very unpretentious people working and eating here, and it has a very casual and down to earth vibe about it.
