How can I summarize the park district? Well I can start by saying that there are more parks in Chicago "proper" than I'll bet most folks realize. Some are taken care of really well and some are not. This depends upon who they hired to be in charge of the park or to take care of the grounds in that area. Some parks are huge and of course some are tiny. They are a great resourse and many of them offer swimming pools. For Example, on the south side Jackson Park and their golf course is part of the city's park district. This place should be visited as well as many other parks. The activities and events that the park district plans thru various club houses are usually free or offered at a low rate.
