Part of the Whitesboro School District, this elementary school is in my opinion "the best" in our area. Of course I might be a tad biased since it is where my two sons attend fifth grade! It is one of four elementary schools in our district.
The principal, Mr. McQueen, has been recognized and awarded for his commitment to the school and his excellent skills as principal. He has taken another position elsewhere I hear, he will definitely be missed.
The teachers are dedicated to making sure the children are learning in a safe, fun environment. If a child needs extra help it is available.
There are many opportunities to be involved as a parent at our school and I suggest you do so if you can. The teachers welcome your presence and want you to be involved.
The fifth graders raise funds each year for their annual June field trip to Boston, MA. The students go on a Whale Watch as well as spending time at the Science Museum located in the harbor across from Quincy Market. My sons will be taking this trip this year before moving on to 6th grade, which is a different building. I know they will miss the teaching staff at "The Road" and are thankful for the experiences they have had here.
