I am a huge fan of Billy Joel, and piano music in general. So of course I enjoy frequenting the Redhead Piano Bar. A few things to know ahead of time:
There is a dress code. I'd stay away from jeans, gym shoes, and be prepared to be asked to tuck in your shirt. For girls there's a little more leeway, but not much.
It gets VERY very crowded. You're extremely lucky to find a spot at the bar or near the piano, but it's not completely impossible. There are also reserved tables in the back that you can ask to be seated at.
The performers take requests, but for a price. I wouldn't think about putting down less than $10 for a single song, maybe even more. If you're told "I don't think I know that one..." you're not paying enough.
Other than that you should be good to go. It draws a somewhat older crowd - business travelers on up, but anyone who enjoys piano music should fit right in. It's really a pretty classy place, and the live music goes till pretty late so it's also a good after hours spot.
