I lived in Manhattan for five years before going to the Frick (insert excuses here). I didn't know what I was missing...I now know why societies like to hold fundraisers here -- the building itself is incredible (architecturally speaking) from the masonry detail to the exquisite Fragonard room. Just imagine when this was a private home, complete with pond & sculpture garden in the center. Ah. To be wealthy in the old days.
The collection does not hold all viewers interest, but I encourage you to grab a guide and look at each gallery with a fresh eye -- you may find something you like. Some of my favorite European landscapes are housed here.
