Since becoming pregnant and knowing my previous OB is no longer an OB, I had to venture out. Upon my previous OB's recommendation, I called Woman Care. She had actually referenced one doctor in particular, Dr. Ronald Wright. He is actually the only one I can write about because he is my doctor.
The office staff can be difficult at times. It is a large office and they are almost the only OB office left in our area. When I first called for an appointment after getting a positive pregnancy test, I got the run around about even getting an appointment. I decided to go to my General Practitioner and had a confirmation test. When those results came back positive I called again. I got a different person and was given a whole new outlook. She easily scheduled me and told me if I had any questions beforehand to be sure to call. I was feeling much better about my choice.
I met Dr. Wright two weeks ago and have seen him once more since. This pregnancy has been a little more eventful than my first. Dr. Wright has a soft sense of humor, a bright smile and a calm demeanor. He tells me what I need to know, lets me make decisions and calms my worries. Many times I"ve heard going to a practice with more than one doctor, you have to meet each doctor and any could deliver. This practice is different. My doctor is the only one I will see and unless some unforseen event occurs he's the one that will deliver.
I did have to call my insurance company because they have different policies than I'm used to. However, my insurance company did say while it's not how they recommend the office would practice, it can occur this way. I have a high deductible plan. They asked for money up front to hold. I didn't like doing it but didn't see much other choice. They also bill the first visit seperate from the global billing of the pregnancy.
I am very happy with my choice as Dr. Wright as my OB. I accept that the office runs as it does. I would give Dr. Wright 5 stars easily. The Office is more like 3 stars.
