Being a big Beatles fan, I made my little sister take me to Sgt Pepper's Restaurant in Hickory when I came to visit her. Situated within a strip mall, it is a very casual restaurant with a large and spacious interior. On Thursday nights, it is very popular with area locals for it's happy hour and dance club scene. We went on an off-night- the place was practically deserted. The food here is Southern inspired- think deep fried and basic. I ordered the fried green tomatos- suprisingly not as good as the ones I had back in the Northeast. Not very expensive though either.
What attracted me to this restaurant was the name, but once inside I found a suprising lack of Beatles paraphenalia. Just a few records dotting the cavernous walls. It was very uninspired- I was picturing over-the-top, but it was not to be.
The service here was friendly, but very slow. It took 30 minutes to get our food.
