While the rolls are ever so sweet and the dutch letters are the best in central Iowa, Dutch Oven Bakery could use a little help in the "helpful smile" department. This classic Ames bakery makes a hearty bowl of soup for lunch and always has an abundant amount of "day-old rolls" on sale for those who don't mind their bread a little crispy. Don't come here if you're looking for Happy Joe, however, cause he's no where in sight.
