I recently received a recall notice on my '05 Matrix and called several dealerships to get the issue resolved. After hearing that parts were not available, they would need my car all day and/or it would be some time before they could fit me in, it was a relief to hear Toyota of Seattle say they could get me in the next day and would only need the car for a few hours. Plus, they had 4 of the 5 possible part models in stock!
(depending on which was installed in my car)
Check-in was quick and efficient. I was shown to the lounge and offered coffee. When I told the service tech I was going to do some shopping he had their 'pick-up and drop-off' van take me the few blocks to Macy's. (It was raining...)
With in the hour I received a call. The part I needed was the one on back order. John (my service tech), gave me a tentative ETA for my part and walked me through the 'what comes next'. He also let me know the service guys had noticed the sticker on my windshield showed I was overdue for an oil change. (I never look at the sticker...) He offered the oil change and to have the van pick me up.
In just over an hour I addressed the recall (I expect the follow up will go just as smoothly as it did today), got my oil and air filter changed, finished my shopping and made a great new business relationship!
