Having recently moved from Houston to Temple, my biggest gripe was the lack of good Asian buffets to go to. We saw Buffet Palace's tv ad and decided to give it a try and drive all the way to Killeen. Coming in, I can't help but notice that the exterior looked like Todai's in Houston. Inside, it was nice and clean wooden booths. We were pleasantly surprised by the selection - a decent sushi selection [no sashimi, though], all clearly labelled and described, crab legs, crawfish, and the requisite buffet fare [cheese wontons, gen. tso's chicken, pepper steak... that kind of thing]. But, in addition to the usual suspects, they had Korean food - bulgogi, korean barbecue, some soups and an udon bar. Their beef bulgogi is awesome and reminds me of the beef bowl at my favorite mom n'pop Japanese eatery in Houston. Their dessert buffet is pretty good too - their sour cream pound cake is just great.
The service, though not bad, is not good either. I guess they just have a whole lot of customers so sometimes they end up getting too frazzled.
Other than the sometimes lacking service, I don't have any other complaints about this place. Give them a try and you'll definitely keep driving back for more.
