I'll be honest here, I have never been a fan of coffee or the ever-present Starbucks chain. However, One Of Life's Perks redeems the High Desert coffee-shop scene. My initial prejudices melted as I realized that One Of Life's Perks is a very comfortable and friendly little shop. Effectively, think about the polar opposite of a Starbucks: where Starbucks is overly hipster and cool, One Of Life's Perks seems to hardly care about how much weird art and brushed-metal counters they can cram in. Add in the facts that they've got tasty coffee, plenty of coffee alternatives, and consider the aforementioned atmosphere, and you come out with a fine establishment.
