We like the Amsterdam. The interior of the restaurant is fabulously done. With it's exposed brick walls, multiple flat panel televisions, and downstairs bar, it definitely plays the part of a NYC restaurant very well. The food is good, not fabulous, but it's good. The waitstaff is good as well. Reservations are usually not necessary, and I've never experienced a wait. It's one of the nicer looking places near Columbia U., but not overflowing with students like some of the others. All in all, I'd recommend dining at the Amsterdam, or at the very least stopping in for drinks and tapas.
