Big River Grille & Brewing Works is owned by the Gordon Biersch chain of microbreweries and conveniently located in downtown Chattanooga, a short stroll from the Tennessee Aquarium. Besides being the only microbrewery in the Chattanooga area, they also offer a full menu, full bar and billiard room.
The menu includes appetizers, salads, sandwiches, grilled favorites, pasta, pizza, and desserts. My favorite include the Nacho appetizer, Yellow Fin Tuna Sandwich, and Pecan Crusted Catfish.
The include a light pilsner, a stout, an IPA, an Irish Red and various other seasonal brews. The best choice may be a small sampler of each of the fresh microbrews.
Big River Grille & Brewing Works is a great gathering place for billiards or to watch sporting events. They also has a separate dining section for family dining.There is limited free parking available, so early arrival is recommended, especially on the weekend. Big River is one of the best restaurants in the downtown Chattanooga area, and the only microbrewery.
