Due partly to remodeling and shortage of nursing staff, my post-partum stay at Nyack Hospital was stressful. I just wanted to take my baby and leave.
The nursing staff did not seem to have the time to teach correct baby care (like how to nurse or bottle feed or change a diaper). No one said anything to me about what I should do as a new mom, aside from a few pamphlets given to me when I was discharged. Good thing I already know how to care for a baby. They did show a film on how shaking your baby is bad for it, but that is required by the state. Go figure.
