P. F. Changs serves wonderful Chinese food with a slight twist. I recommend starting with the Lettuce Chicken Wraps ($7.95). They are made with spiced chicken, water chestnuts, mushrooms and rice sticks. A platter of lettuce cups is served for wrapping and a delicious sauce is served on the side. The Crab Wontons ($6.95) are also an excellent choice of starter. They are crisp and full of real crabmeat. My husband is a fan of the Hot and Sour Soup ($2.95 cup) which is a spicy blend of bamboo shoots, bean curd and mushrooms in a light broth. Do not make the mistake of ordering the bowl of soup unless you plan to share with the entire table-it is very large.
We generally share one or two entrees depending on the number of people at the table. Portions are very large and they are served with a choice of white or brown rice. We love the Moo Goo Gai Pan ($11.95), a delicious combination of shrimp, chicken, mushrooms, snow peas and Chinese vegetables in a light white sauce. The Mo Shu Pork ($10.25) is also very flavorful. It is served with mandarin pancakes for wrapping and a hoisin sauce on the side. The Almond Cashew Chicken is also an excellent choice. Make sure you order the Chinese tea, it really compliments the meal.
