The Dallas museum has a great collection. Whenever I'm feeling like the grind is getting me down I head over there for a couple of hours. They have enough diversity in their permanent collection that there's bound to be something for everyone.
The building is well designed. It's open enough that you can really get involved with the paintings and sculptures, but still dignified.
Their rotating exhibits are impressive and varied. They also have wonderful ongoing events, such as Late Nights, summer art camp, and many programs for families.
I just wish general admission wasn't so expensive. I've been to cities that have museums that are almost as nice but are free. There are nights, however, when the admission fees are waived.
