I used to think Steinmart was for old people to decorate their homes with old stuffy looking stuff. (I live in Florida and that's the clientele I kept seeing going in.) Boy was I wrong. A friend of mine and I were shopping from place to place and she wanted to return something she had bought at Steinmart so while she was returning the item I walked around the store.
I will admit that most of the clothes are not my style and confirmed my initial thought of this place, but I really like the home goods department. They have frames to suite every taste; plates, glasses, trays – pretty much everything you’d need to entertain guests; home décor; and the list goes on. I will say that my fiancé has better luck finding clothes – with their 50% and 75% off sales – he was wearing an outfit the other day from Steinmart (dress slacks and a button down shirt) which only cost him $35.
Whenever I go into Steinmart I always make a beeline to their hair accessories. I don’t think they have these all the time, but I really love the crystal hair accessories. They’re so much cheaper than the ones at the mall. Although some of them look a lot cheaper than the mall, so you have to look carefully. (Anyone familiar with my reviews will know that I’ve reviewed a couple crystal hair accessories shops.)
For those not in the know (like I was), Steinmart is another off price retailer and when you can get in on their 75% off sales, you can walk away with a really great bargain. Be careful though; sometimes things are marked in a way that it looks like it’s on sale, but it’s not. They use some weird colour-coded system to keep track of what’s on sale and for how much. Just turn the price tag over and you’ll see. When they say “red dot savings” sometimes it’s marked with a purple highlighter, a pink marker, etc.
