I went there in 2013 for alcohol recovery. The food was great! The staff was vindictive and discussed patients in the open. The program was great. A number of patients had been there many times. I hope it finally worked for them. The doctor who runs the place saw me once with his slate of questions. He will tell you to remember FIVE WORDS, as he continues his questions. If you don't remember them all upon his command, you will be labeled with dementia for the rest of your life, in writing. Then if you want to get out of the place when you have had it, you get to go through more humiliation and accusing. I wanted to call the police but had to go through the release process for an entire day. Don't give ANYTHING to other patients. The staff thinks you are demented and says you should not let yourself be taken advantage of. Have a cigarette? NOT. And from their little cubicle, they advertise it to anyone near it. I happened to be there with about 12 other patients while I was being discussed. I was humiliated and pitied in a group. There is absolutely no patient privacy. The big lesson I left with was that I have dementia because of those five little words and the very public humiliation about it. I can still speak publicly, write songs, own a home and live. I don't care about the five words to this day, but if you don't care, you are screwed! more
