What a great experience! I went to Jakers at high noon--a gamble since I had never been there and didn't know what to expect. It paid off. The building itself is simple and elegant, the staff adds a huge serving of friendly and warmth. Jakers was great from the moment we stepped inside to our steps on the way back out. Our lunch experience was relaxed and comfortable, while our service was quick and efficient. We were in and out within forty minutes, had a melt in your mouth French Dip sandwich with a nice sized side salad...oh--and complimentary warm scones with honey butter. We took a peek at the salad/soup bar (which appeared very popular). It had a lot of selections and even though many people seemed to be going through it was very well maintained and well stocked. This will be my choice for lunch the next time I visit...(with maybe a side of the Gorgonzola fries that were calling my name but I didn't order). Jakers' atmosphere is both elegant and hospitable. It was impeccably clean when I was there. This is a great place for a nicer lunch, to celebrate a special occasion or to bring a client. The staff was so welcoming and friendly I felt like I had been going there for years!
